    Identify blogs that are a good fit in terms of subject matter and audience. Pitch relevant article ideas to the site owner or editor. Aim for blogs that will give you an author bio with a link back to your site.

    When reaching out, customize your pitch and make it personal. Explain why you think your article would be a great fit for their audience. Offer to send a draft upon approval so they can get a sense of what you’ll be providing. 

    Once your guest post is published, promote it on your own site and social channels to drive extra traffic. You can then include the guest post in your online portfolio to further build your authority as an industry expert.

    2. Link Roundups 

    Curate and compile the best links and resources on a particular topic and reach out to relevant sites to see if they’ll include it in their content. Make sure to include your site as one of the resources.

    Target sites that publish roundups, lists, and link collections on topics related to yours. Use outreach emails to pitch your link roundup and ask for inclusion.

    Create the roundup list in a Google Sheet or Doc so it’s easy to share. Make each link description enticing yet honest. Instead of just the URL, describe what the reader will find there. This provides more value to the site owner.

    Follow up with the site owners if you don’t hear back after 1-2 weeks. Consider reaching out on social media in some cases if you can’t get a response. Persistence pays off.

    3. Industry Directories

    Feature your business on relevant industry directories and leverage those high-authority backlinks. Make sure your directory listings are robust and optimized.

    Search for directories related to your niche. Prioritize high-traffic directories like Crunchbase, AngelList, and Better Business Bureau. Complete your listing profiles, add images/videos, and include keyword-rich descriptions.

    Check each directory frequently to update details like employee counts, funding rounds, or new products and services. The more comprehensive your listing, the more clicks and traffic it will generate. 

    4. Sponsor Content

    Sponsor or contribute expert content to respected industry publications. This earns a byline link and establishes your brand as a thought leader.

    Identify reputable publications that accept sponsored posts in your field. Pitch article ideas that their audience would find interesting. Always provide useful, non-promotional content. 

    When your sponsored article is published, share it across your social channels and email subscribers. This helps justify the investment through expanded reach and engagement.

    You can work relevant keywords into the sponsored post to align with your SEO goals. But make sure it reads naturally and provides true value for readers.

    5. Give Interviews

    Actively seek out and give interviews to publications and bloggers in your space. A link back to your site is typically included.

    Make a list of respected publications that feature interviews with industry experts. Reach out and offer yourself as a potential interview subject. Promote the published piece through your own channels.

    Find an outdated “best of” or “ultimate guide” piece on a relevant publisher site. Improve on it by creating an updated, more useful version. Email it to the site owner and ask them to swap it with their existing content and link to you.

    Before reaching out, make sure your skyscraper content is truly better and adds value. Don’t just make minor tweaks. Revamp the structure, add more details, include visuals, and make it easy for them to implement.

    7. Link Reclamation

    Reclaim lost or broken backlinks using outreach. Identify websites that previously linked to your old or broken content and ask them to update the link or create a new link.

    Search for “lost link” or “page not found” on sites that previously linked to your domain. Contact the webmaster, explain the broken link, and request an updated link to your current content.
