    Located around 11km from Jaipur, Amer Fort is an impressive fort complex built high on a hill.     Nahargarh Fort

    Perched on the edge of the Aravalli Hills, Nahargarh Fort provides some of the best sunset views in Jaipur. The 18th century fort has imposing ramparts lined with carvings and delicate frescoes inside.

    Wander through the Madhavendra Bhavan palace and step inside cozy bedrooms and boudoirs once used by the maharanis. The fort’s rooftop restaurant, Padao, is a great place to relax and soak in panoramic views over the city with a drink or dinner.

    Jal Mahal

    In the middle of Man Sagar Lake lies the stunning Jal Mahal or ‘Water Palace’. This architectural masterpiece comprises of five stories, four of which remain underwater when the lake is filled. The elaborately carved sandstone and marble palace makes for an incredible scene, seeming to almost float atop the waters.

    For the best views, visit on a clear sunny day when the surrounding Aravalli Hills are reflected onto the lake. While you can’t go inside the palace, the picturesque views make it an unforgettable sight.

    Birla Mandir

    Birla Mandir is a magnificent Hindu temple located at the foot of Moti Dungri Fort in Jaipur. Constructed of sparkling white marble, the temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Ornate carvings and towering domes decorated with paintings of Hindu deities decorate the temple interior.

    At night when illuminated, the pure white marble glows majestically. Visiting Birla Mandir in the evening to partake in the worship ceremony and see its illuminated splendor is a mystical experience. Don’t forget to make a wish by ringing the temple bell before leaving.

    Chokhi Dhani
