    • Early summer. To maximize your chances of potting grizzlies, be patient, respectful, and attentive to wildlife and their habitats. Here are the best times of day to spot these bears:

    • Early morning. Usually, bears are more active in the early morning hours, especially around sunrise. When the day starts, these bears may search for food or go to various places. In turn, this offers opportunities to spot them. 
    • Late evenings. Late evenings provide increased grizzly bear activity. These bears may be moving about or foraging while they prepare for darkness. Also, this time offers the benefit of softer lighting conditions for perfect snapshots.

    Tips to Keep in Mind to Prepare Yours for Bear Sightings or Encounters

    When you venture into wildlife parks, you must have the right type of equipment to improve your viewing experience and guarantee your safety. Here’s what you need:

    • High-quality binoculars. You will these pieces of equipment to safely observe grizzlies from a distance. Find models that have great magnification and lens diameter, so you can more clearly view the behaviors and features of the bears. 
    • Camera with a telephoto lens. This camera lets you capture memorable shots of the bears. With a telephoto lens, you can zoom in on them from a distance and capture their expressions and behaviors.
    • Sturdy tripod. You will need this equipment to support your camera and lens for minimal camera sharing. Also, this ensures stability, so you can capture clear and sharp images. 
    • Wildlife application or field guide. Use a wildlife app or carry a field guide to help you identify grizzlies and other wildlife at the park you may encounter. They offer valuable information on the behavior, distinguishing features, and habitat of grizzly bears. 
    • Comfortable clothing and footwear. When you visit a wildlife park to try to spot grizzlies, wear comfortable clothing that is suitable for the weather. Bring windproof and waterproof outer layers because Yellowstone has unpredictable weather. Also, wear sturdy, comfortable footwear, especially if you want to explore any area of the park where grizzlies are usually spotted.
